Henry and Hannah Braun of Germany opened the Braun Hotel in 1910 with warm baths in the lower level. Probably most distinctive for the L-shaped building is its mansard roof that has a variety of shingle types and pent roofed dormers. Flat-topped windows with deep reveals and lugsills are utilized throughout the asymmetrical structure.
